On Saturday, June 3, beginning at 10 a.m., Teresa’s Next Door will celebrate its 10th anniversary during the 10th anniversary of Philly Beer Week (PBW) with 10-year-old beers, a throwback menu and guest bartenders from beloved former staff. The iconic Main Line beer bar will kick off the festivities at 10 a.m. with a toast of Dogfish Head 2007 World Wide Stout, plus 50 complimentary pastries from Bien Cuit for the morning’s first 50 guests.
After a full day of extraordinary beers, including Pliny the Elder and Russian River Blind Pig and STS Pils on tap, the celebration will come to a head at 10 p.m. with a toast of Classic Gueuze from famed Belgium brewery Cantillon, which dates from the start of construction on the now-iconic bar.
“We’re proud and excited to welcome staff members, fans and friends to join us as we raise a glass to 10 years of great beers,” says chef-owner Andy Dickerson. “Teresa’s Next Door has strived to share the best beers in the world with our neighbors on the Main Line, and this event will highlight the beers that were there for us when we first opened our doors, including rare and prized vintages that we saved just for this occasion.”
The fun continues the following weekend: Teresa’s Next Door will kick off its next 10 years with a bang, the annual WXPN Wayne Music Festival. On Saturday, June 10, beginning at 1 p.m., Wayne Avenue will close to traffic for a three-stage music fest featuring the annual Tröegs Independent Brewing Beer Garden, headlined by Rusted Root.
Owner Michael Ellis and chef-owner Dickerson transformed their neighborhood with the debut of Teresa’s in 1997; 10 years later, Teresa’s Next Door joined the family and gave the area a premier, world-class beer bar to complement the wine and whiskey selections of the original.
Located steps from the Wayne train station, Teresa’s Next Door features a wood-burning grill, and Chef Dickerson’s Belgian-inspired menu pays homage to the top-notch fermentation program helmed by beverage director Chris Peters. The restaurant offers 27 beers, along with seven ciders, one mead and one gluten-free beer, all on draught, complemented by a diverse list of natural and biodynamic wines and more than 350 whiskies.
