Poke bowls are on trend at the moment, and Harrisburg will soon be getting its own poke bowl spot—Freshido. The new fast causal restaurant will be located in Strawberry Square at Third and Market Streets in the former Plum Sport location.
Poke is a Hawaiian dish of thinly sliced or cubed raw marinated fish. At Freshido, customers will design their own poke bowls with choices of rice, vegetables and sauces. Similar to Chipotle, customers will order their bowls at a counter. The restaurant will seat 50.
Owners are Shawn You and Benson Chan, who also operate Shogun Asian Fusion in Lower Paxton Township and Kondu at the Harrisburg Mall in Swatara Twp.
The menu is still evolving, but it will also include sushi burritos and bowls that include chicken, beef and pork. There will be approximately 60 fresh ingredients to choose from when designing your own bowl.
Freshido is tentatively scheduled to open in October.
