Visit the Berks County Wine Trail During Winter Warmer Weekend (Jan. 14, 15)

Warm up with some wine this winter at Berks County Wine Trail’s Winter Warmer Weekend.

Visit the wineries of the Berks County Wine Trail on Saturday, January 14, and Sunday, January 15, from 12–5 p.m. and warm up with a cozy selection of wines paired with hot soups and other comfort foods. Check out the menu of pairings featured during the event at these participating wineries:

Blair Vineyards

Add some heat to the frostiest of days with samples of a spiced sweet potato soup paired with Lover’s Leap, the winery’s white wine blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinto Gris. 99 Dietrich Valley Rd., Kutztown

Weathered Vineyards

Looking for something warm to fill your belly on a cold winter day? Enjoy a sample of homemade pasta fagioli made with the winery’s own Merlot red wine and served with a tasting of the wine. 7670 Carpet Rd., New Tripoli

Stone Barn Cellars

Prep yourself for the coldest of days with a luscious cream of wild mushroom soup paired with a 2015 Merlot. This rich soup loaded with fresh herbs is a perfect complement for a mellow, dry red wine. 3050 Pottstown Pike, Spring City

Bashore & Stoudt Country Winery

Snuggle up with warmed spiced apple wine paired with the ultimate in warming comfort food—apple pie! 5784 Old Route 22, Shartlesville

Manatawny Creek Winery

Enjoy a taste of creamy cauliflower soup paired with a 2014 Chardonnay white wine to soothe your soul on a winter afternoon. 227 Levengood Rd., Douglassville

Kog Hill Winery

Long Trout Winery

Get it while it’s hot! Sample roasted pepper and bacon soup paired with Omnipopular Cabernet Sauvignon red wine or lemon chicken soup with Afternoon Delight Pinot Gris. 84 Fork Mountain Rd., Auburn

Pinnacle Ridge Winery

 Enjoy a sample of Italian soup featuring sausage, potatoes, herbs and Parmesan. Pair with either 2015 Chambourcin or 2015 “Quaff” red blend. 407 Old Route 22, Kutztown

Ridgewood Winery

Get a warm welcome from the newest member of the wine trail with red velvet cupcakes paired with warmed, spiced Cabernet Sauvignon red wine. During your visit on Saturday, you can also enjoy $5 chili bowls as part of a Blankets of Hope charity fundraiser.
