Father’s Day is right around the corner, and Library Bar at The Rittenhouse wants to help you celebrate dear ole Dad! If your Dad is difficult to buy a gift for and you don’t want to get him another tie, Library Bar has the perfect gift—a custom cocktail created just for him by mixologist extraordinaire Jesse Dureka.
Library Bar’s Father’s Day Cocktail Competition will be held from May 15–June 15. To enter, simply submit a photo of Dad and you and include an essay of 100 words or less on why your Dad deserves a Library Bar namesake cocktail. Submit your entry to event manager Abbe Stern via email, including any relevant social media handles. The winner will be announced on Father’s Day on Library Bar’s social channels, using #MyDadDeservesLB to share the news.
The winner’s dad will set up a time, in the last two weeks of June, with Library Bar’s head mixologist Jesse Dureka to create his own eponymous Library Bar cocktail, which will be featured all of July. During that same month, dad can stop by Library Bar any time to enjoy his cocktail on the house. Dad will also receive a gift certificate to get an indulgent shave at The Rittenhouse Spa & Club, which Esquire magazine named one of the most luxurious shaves in the country. This ultimate shave experience starts with a hot towel steam and straight-edge razor foam shave, and then moves on to a soothing eye mask, relaxing face massage and a rejuvenating facial mask. The shave is finished with a 10-minute lemongrass scalp massage.
“Father’s Day is rarely more than a backyard barbecue and fathers are notoriously hard to shop for. We wanted to create something special yet approachable to help our guests celebrate this year,” said Jesse Dureka, head mixologist. “We’re excited to hear stories that showcase why our guests want to celebrate their fathers and look forward to honoring one special dad with an eponymous cocktail in the Library Bar!”
