Nourish PA: Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie

If you like blueberry cobbler or blueberry muffins, this is the drink for you. This sweet, nutrition-dense smoothie made with blueberries, rolled oats, yogurt and honey is a healthy little treat that tastes like a dessert. Just combine the ingredients with some ice and blend for a few minutes. Every sip gives you antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, calcium and probiotics for a healthy gut and a gorgeous glow. Did we mention it tastes like dessert?

You can substitute raspberries or strawberries or your favorite frozen fruits for blueberries. Add banana, spinach, chia seeds, flaxseeds or protein powder to make this smoothie your own!

Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon honey, or maple syrup

Method

  1. Add blueberries, oats, yogurt, milk, ice, and honey to a blender.
  2. Blend on high until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed, about 1 minute.
  3. Divide smoothie evenly between glasses. Serve and enjoy.
