Nourish PA: Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips

Sweet, crunchy and utterly satisfying, these baked cinnamon apple chips are an amazing healthy snack! And making them couldn’t be simpler: Slice some apples into thin rounds and give them two hours to dry out in a low oven. Stored in a sealed bag, they should last for up to one week — pack them in lunches, crumble them into granola or simply nosh on them anytime your sweet tooth calls!

Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips

Ingredients

  • 1 medium apple, such as Honeycrisp, Gala or Fuji, cut into 1/16-inch rounds and seeded
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F and line a rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Place apple slices in a single layer onto prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Flip slices over and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon.
  2. Bake, flipping apple slices halfway through, until crisp, about 2 hours. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
