Boxcar Brewpub On Its Way

Kymberly Robinson, co-owner of Boxcar Brewing Companyleaked the news today that she and her husband, Jamie, plan to expand their brewing operation to downtown West Chester, opening up their very own brewpub in the former home of The Note.

Boxcar Brewing Co. was founded in 2008 as the collaboration between the Robinsons and Jason and Kristen Kohser. In 2010, the brewing company came to full fruition and officially opened to the public. As of 2014, the Robinsons are the sole owners of the brewing company.

Since day one of Boxcar, the West Chester-based brewery operated as a community-oriented operation, relying heavily on the local support of family and friends through community bottling days, volunteer opportunities and community-supported beers.

With regular appearances at area-wide beer festivals and the always successful Ride the Rails events, the idea of launching a local brewpub has been brewing with the owners—now soon a reality.

Brewpub Inspiration; What To Expect

“The inspiration for the brewpub is rooted in our desire to create a living, breathing space where our passion for beer and the arts can integrate with our community in a meaningful and lasting way,” shared Kymberly.

The couple anticipates an opening within the third fiscal quarter of 2014. Aiming to support the community through an energetic, entertaining environment fostered by friends, family, and beer enthusiasts from all corners, locals can expect everything from arcade games, a fully equipped stage, weekly events—both kid and adult friendly—and an environment designed for group gatherings. Oh, and beer flowing aplenty (of course).
