Sharpshooters Grille: One Gettysburg Location, 80 Different Craft Beers

Sharpshooters Grille Beer List

If you’re tired of going to restaurants that never offer the type of beer you crave, Sharpshooters Grille is the answer to your problem.

Nestled on the corner of Route 30 and Chambersburg Road in Gettysburg, the restaurant offers more than 80 different craft beers to satisfy its customers’ taste buds.

In business for more than 40 years and rich in history, Sharpshooters Grill is housed in what was originally a barn. Customers can see remnants of feeding troughs that are built into the stone walls, said director of sales and marketing Michelle Liller.

Sharpshooters Grille Interior

When you enter Sharpshooters Grille you’re greeted in the main dining room that includes a martini bar with a few bar stools and seven craft beers on tap. To the right is a large banquet room with elongated tables, used for parties or activities the restaurant hosts such as paint night.

Fireplaces allude to a sense of comfort in each room, accenting the restaurant’s black tables and chairs with a hint of orange and warmth. Single lights dangle over each booth and table, wooden walls and pillars offering a rustic feel.

Sharpshooters Grille recently launched a new menu, said manager Emily Alvear. The revamped menu includes more pasta options, additional appetizers and a build-your-own burger section.

Liller and Alvear believe Sharpshooters’ wings are a restaurant staple, offering more than 10 different sauces. They noted that the homemade combo sauce, which has been around since the early 1990s, is a popular choice.

In addition to its new menu and popular wings, Sharpshooters Grille is becoming known for its beer selection. According to Liller, about three years ago the restaurant’s selection of craft beers increased significantly and the growing popularity in the industry was helpful.

“We have over 80 different craft beer selections in bottles,” said Alvear. “If you include the domestics and imports we have well over 100 beers.”

Their craft beer list is broken down into categories such lager, IPA, cider and more. Next to each category is a description of what customers can expect to taste if they order from the group. Underneath the category is a list of available beers with accompanying alcohol percentages, brewing company details and location.

A few locally brewed beers available include a strawberry wheat and a milk stout from Lancaster Brewing Company, Sour Hound from Roy Pitz Brewing in Chambersburg and Perpetual IPA by Troegs Brewing Company in Hershey.

If guests find a beer that really satisfies their palate, Sharpshooters Grille also has a “mix-a-six” store with a separate outside entrance where people can mix and match craft beer bottles in a six-pack. Customers can also purchase imports or domestic beers and 12-packs.

The craft beer list is updated at least once a month, said Alvear, and is always changing. For example, in addition to the menu’s soda beers, wheat beers, pale ales, American ambers, fruit and vegetable beers and stouts, the Grille offers seasonal options, such as Troegs’ Nugget Nectar and Mad Elf Holiday Ale.

The Grille attracts a very diverse crowd, Liller said. Its lay-out allows for a family-friendly atmosphere in the main area yet also includes a separate room filled with pool tables, high-top tables, a few TVs and a wraparound bar. “We like to include the community and give back,” said Alvear. “We want to make them welcome and not think it’s just a bar.”

For example, the Grille offers specials every night of the week that range from Monday’s “South of the Border” night, with tacos, nachos, margaritas and trivia, to “Two for Tuesdays” that include one appetizer and two entrees for $24.

In addition, Sharpshooters Grille offers a second dining room with a DJ booth and dance floor, where guests can enjoy a meal and a beer while taking part in music trivia or open-mic night.

For the smokers, the Grille includes a smokehouse lounge with its own pool table and small bar for special events.

Double doors lead to the outside deck that opens in the warmer months, when people can take in the sun and warm breeze while enjoying company and a cold beer.

With a craft beer menu that fills five pages, it’s hard to believe people won’t find what they’re looking for at Sharpshooters Grille.

Bar hours are 11 a.m.–midnight Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m.–1 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m.–midnight Sunday. Grille hours are 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
