SlyFox Brewing Company’s CanJam is Back! Tournament Registration Opens 8/1

It’s time to KanJam your way to victory (read: free beer) at Sly Fox Brewing‘s annual Can Jam Music Festival on September 30 at their Pottstown brewery. What originally started as a celebration of Sly Fox’s role as an early adopter and promoter of using cans to package their beer, the event has now turned into a day long event filled with live music, beer, food, and oh, the world’s largest KanJam tournament. No biggie.

“Throwing parties is one of the best parts of the brewing business, and this is a massive one: a perfect way to celebrate Sly Fox canned beers with food, fun, music, and friends,” says Brewmaster Brian O’Reilly. “As the summer winds down, we can’t wait for our fellow beer and music lovers to join us at the brewery for one last hurrah of 2017!”

And hurrah we will! What better way to send off summer than winning your weight in beer? That’s right: the winner of the KanJam tournament wins their weight in beer (last year’s winning team took home 21 cases of Sly Fox beer). Registration opens online on August 1 and fills up quickly, so interested participants are urged to register sooner than later. The cost of registration is $65 per team of two, and includes:

  • Two t-shirts
  • Two koozies
  • Two food tickets
  • Four beer tickets
  • A shot at the grand prize: the team’s weight in beer

Don’t sleep on signing up! Fees increase to $75 per team on 9/1, if any registrations are still available at that time.

Whether or not you decide to participate in the tournament, guests are invited to play friendly games of KanJam; other activities and festivities will include:

  • Sly Fox food, beer and gear, available on a pay-as-you-go basis
  • An optional 16 or 40–mile bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail, with snack stops provided for participating riders along the way, plus tickets that can be redeemed on site for beer or food, en route to Can Jam (in 2016, more than 300 riders participated)
  • Live music beginning at 12 noon, including: John Train, Michael Tiernan and RFA
  • Children and well-behaved pets are welcome, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the music and festivities all day long
