Philly Pastry Chefs Team Up for Upcoming Gingerbread Workshop & Fundraiser to Benefit Toys For Tots

Building a perfect gingerbread house is the epitome of the holidays for some, and maybe would be for more if it wasn’t so hard. If your child has ever wanted to complete one of the traditional treats, without broken walls and oozing windows, then be sure to visit Davio’s Philadelphia on Sunday, December 9th for an ultimate workshop, one that’s for a good cause, too!

Their Gingerbread House Party will take place from noon to 3 p.m. with a focus on collecting items for Toys for Tots. Children of all ages are invited to participate in the one-of-a-kind workshop. Davio’s pastry chef Thomas Heck will lead the demonstration and workshop, teaching guests how to build personalized gingerbread houses fit for the North Pole! The event is $50.00 per child, and adult admission is free. Each participating child will receive one gingerbread house to decorate (with delectable decorations included courtesy of Nuts to You, a buffet lunch, and the chance to meet Santa for some photos!

Some of Philadelphia’s renowned pastry chefs will be present, including chef Robert Bennett of Classic Cake, chef Jennifer Smith of Le Bec Fin, and chef Jessie Prawlucki of Belle Cakery & FOND. Even chef Diana Anello of Chestnut Hill’s Bredenbeck’s will be on site. She runs her own gingerbread workshop for all ages at their new cafe spot throughout November and December so you know her skills are honed! More info on that, HERE.

In the generous spirit of the holidays, Davio’s also asks that each family help in one small way by arriving at the workshop with an unwrapped toy. All contributions will help Toys for Tots spread some seasonal joy this year!
