There are plenty of reasons to hit the beach, even in fall. Here’s one—Meals On Wheels Delaware is hosting the 11th Annual Celebrity Chefs’ Beach Brunch at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach, Del., on Sunday, October 6!
Local beach chefs come out each year to support the organization and raise money for Delaware’s homebound seniors. Last year, nearly 600 guests attended the event to sample the food, enjoy the wine and spirits and support a great cause.
This year, the following restaurants will be participating: a(Muse.), Abbott’s Grill, Baywood Clubhouse & Restaurant, Big Fish Grill Rehoboth, Blue Moon Rehoboth, Cabo Mexican Restaurant, The Cultured Pearl, Eden, Espuma, FINS Fish House & Raw Bar, Gary’s Dewey Beach Grill, Grub Grocery Pub, Henlopen City Oyster House, Hooked Seafood & Martini Bar, Ivy, Jam Bistro, Little Savannah, Nage Restaurant, The Picked Pig Pub, The Pig & Fish Restaurant Company, Salt Air, Shore Break and Table & Taproom.
Wine and spirits will be in the mix as well, with Henlopen City Oyster House preparing a Bloody Mary Bar. 16 Mile Brewery and Dogfish Head will be providing a wonderful arrangement of assorted beers, and Southern Wine & Spirits of Delaware will be sampling a variety of their fine wines.
Auction items during the event will include a Farm to Table Dinner provided by Chef Ted Deptula of Nage Restaurant, Roast Pig from Bethany Blue, a dinner prepared by 2012 Battle at the Beach Winner Kevin Reading and much more!
All proceeds benefit Meals On Wheels Delaware, whose five member agencies and volunteers delivered nearly 635,000 meals to over 4,000 homebound senior Delawareans last year.
Entry to the Celebrity Chefs’ Beach Brunch is $75 per person. Tickets for the event are available here. For more information about the event, visit Meals On Wheels Delaware’s website, or give them a call: (302) 656-3257.
About Meals On Wheels Delaware
The mission of Meals On Wheels Delaware is to ensure, through the provision of financial and human resources, that every eligible senior in the State of Delaware receives a hot, nutritious meal in their home. Meals On Wheels Delaware is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, a public/private partnership between the federal government, the State of Delaware, five meal-providing agencies and thousands of volunteers from corporations, civic, religious and community groups. Together, the program provides and delivers meals every day to almost 4,000 homebound seniors. In fact, last year nearly 600,000 meals were served throughout the state. Meals On Wheels Delaware joins the partnership by providing additional financial and volunteer resources to the agency providers to ensure that no senior in Delaware is on a waiting list for a hot meal delivered to their home. Meals On Wheels Delaware provides more than a meal … it also provides a gift of health, independence and companionship to homebound seniors in Delaware.
