Give your children a creative summer by enrolling them in one of People’s Light’s Summerstage programs for grades 2–12! Classes are offered at three levels:
- In Littles (grades 2–3), budding artists explore improvisation, movement and sound to create an original story as well as their own scenery, props and costumes to make it come alive. Classes will be held Mondays–Fridays, July 6–18, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Youth (grades 4–8) campers delve into themes and character relationships in the Newberry Award–winning novel A Single Shard as a starting point for creating an original play inspired by the story. Students will work with professional artists to develop acting, movement, music and playwriting skills. The Youth program is offered Mondays–Fridays, July 6–31, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Teens (grades 9–12) can enroll in four different weeklong programs, with each week covering a different topic: improvisation, devising, voice & movement and the production process. Each week is designed as a stand-alone experience, but all four weeks connect thematically with People’s Light’s upcoming production of Richard III.
