The Beer Yard is reporting that Chatty Monks brewpub of Reading plans to open a 15-barrel production brewery and restaurant in Phoenixville circa spring 2016.
In a recent interview with co-founder Rob Metzger, the new enterprise was confirmed to occupy a 13,000 sq. ft. property on Main Street just next door to Molly Maguire’s Irish Restaurant & Pub. Metzger said that demand for Chatty Monks has surpassed the capability of its three-barrel system at the original location on Penn Avenue in Reading.
Chatty Monks will join Sly Fox Brewhouse & Eatery, Stable 12 Brewing Company and Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant as competing breweries in Phoenixville’s budding beer scene.
