If you are looking for a fast way to get delicious fasnachts on Fasnachts Day, drive over to Bird-In-Hand Bakery & Cafe on Tuesday, February 28. Fasnacht Day, also known as Fat Tuesday, is traditionally the day when Pennsylvania Dutch women use up the last of the cooking fat in the house in preparation for Lent by making heavy, yeast-raised donuts called fasnachts.
Bird-In-Hand Bakery & Cafe will be operating a Fasnacht Day drive-through tent from 6–9 a.m. Pull right up to the curbside tent and have fasnachts and coffee delivered to your car. Fasnachts will also be available inside the bakery all day.
