New Grocery Delivery Service, Instacart, Now Delivering Fine Wines & Good Spirits

Instacart just arrived on the Philadelphia scene not too long ago, but they’re already making a big splash, especially with their recent announcement regarding Fine Wines & Good Spirits.

As  the only service that can deliver groceries from multiple local stores within an hour, they announced today that it has added delivery from Fine Wine & Good Spirits in Philadelphia.

According to Instacart founder Apoorva Mehta, Philadelphians’ number one request since the initial launch has been the delivery of wine and spirits.

“We think this is going to be hugely successful in Philadelphia and are excited to be providing a service that really does not exist at the moment,” said Mehta. “In recent weeks, we have worked closely with city officials to secure an alcohol delivery license and train our shoppers, and we look forward to kicking off this new service.”

Instacart serves most of downtown and Northwest Philadelphia, plus a few surrounding neighborhoods: Center City, South Philadelphia, University City, Kingsessing, Cobbs Creek, Overbrook, Wynnefield, Bala Cynwyd, Wynnewood, Penn Valley, Manayunk, Roxborough, Chestnut Hill, Mt. Airy, Germantown, East Falls, Nicetown, North Philadelphia, Fishtown, Fairmount, Northern Liberties, Lower Merion, Gladwyne, Ardmore, Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Havertown and parts of Upper Darby. Customers can open an Instacart account and get free delivery on their first order of $35 or more.
