New Restaurant Landmark Americana Coming to West Chester

Oh, New Jersey. You certainly have given Pennyslvania a lot to talk about – your fast cars, awkward Turnpikes, big hair, and questionable beaches (I mean, shores) come to mind – but you’ve always been there. Like the good little sibling to PA that you are, you’ve also given us good music (The Misfits, Ted Leo, Deborah Harry, Sure Juror, and yes, Springsteen) and great food (famous chef Tom Colicchio of Bravo’s Top Chef, and the origin of the American-style diner). And this March, we thank you, New Jersey, for giving us Glassboro’s original Landmark Americana.

Did you spend last summer wondering, like us, what that new building on the corner of Gay Street and Darlington Street was going to be? After months of waiting, we were finally given a sign – literally. A poster on the street-level window was tacked up, giving us all the square footage information that we wanted to know. It also told us that, yes, Landmark Americana was coming to a West Chester near us. What is it, anyway? Another American cuisine themed restaurant and bar, apparently. With a more extensive menu than most others of its kind (they boast six french fry variations, creative entrees and lots, we mean LOTS, of steak sandwiches), they have a good chance of holding their own in WC. The new location has promised to add a little West Chester class – their website says they hope to mimic the original location, but a bit more upscale.

Like the new Barnaby’s, Landmark also is confident that their nightlife will reel in the town’s finest. They have 18 drafts on tap (including Magic Hat and Flying Fish!), 24 bottles, 11 different martinis and margaritas, a variety of specialty mixed drinks and Red Bull drinks, and a decent wine list (we’re excited about the Ecco Domani, but that’s just us!). They also have theme nights that include sing-a-longs, DJs, holiday appropriate parties for Mardi Gras and Cinco de Mayo, and Mexican Mondays (where Mexican beers and margaritas are reduced, along with cheap quesadillas and nachos). Maybe it’s just us, but we think we’re excited.

Landmark Americana coming soon in March!
