I make sure to keep a pen and paper handy at all times to ensure that I capture all the good foodisms I overhear. Today was a good food quote day. Here’s a few I would like to share.
I was on the computer this morning, and my friend sent me a message that said, “Good morning sunshine, I’ve got a surprise for you today…it’s called fruit.” Not sure what it’s in relation to, but I liked it.
In this morning’s meeting, my boss announced, “I made purple cauliflower last night. My daughter thought I dyed it; she was terrified.”
A colleague, whom I continue to refer to as “intern” or “tern” even though she is now a full-time, paid employee, came into my cubicle. After she asked what I was eating and saw that it was fruit salad, she replied, “I have a banana upstairs and I’m going to destroy it.” (I think that’s one of the best ones I’ve heard in awhile.)
Later in the day I was on the phone with a friend who was at a restaurant, and the waiter was taking his order. After hearing what the soup special was, he politely said, “I don’t think I’ll be trying the Japanese radish soup, thanks. Yuck.”
Last but not least, after reading an article about ham (which will be posted in In Other Food News tonight) the final quote of the article was “Ham provides us with life.” Can you get any better than that?
The Final Dish: What are some fun food quotes you have overheard recently? Go on…dish it up!
