An Evening at Teikoku with Wine on the Deck
Teikoku restaurant invites you to join us for an evening of wine on the deck with wine educator and former sommelier, Matthew Esser of Shiffrin Selections and wine educator and consultant, Heather Wright of Cellar Door Imports and Executive Chef, Takao Iinuma.
Thursday July 3, 2008 from 5:30 P.M. TO 7:30 P.M.
Sushi– Fresh, delicate and succulent salmon, hamachi and bass served with the traditional accouterments.
Recommended pairing– 2007 Finca la Linda Torrontes, Cafayate Salta, Argentina
Clear yellow-greenish color, floral aromas, and excellent balance between floral and fruity
Tuna Bruschetta– Soy glazed, toasted tortilla with sashimi grade tuna topped with tomato bruschetta and finished with dill aioli.
Recommended pairing– NV Dr. Konstantin Frank, Salmon Run Riesling, Keuka Lake, New York
Steely acidic backbone, floral elements and pear/apple notes
Grilled lamb chops– Grilled New Zealand lamb with a Tahitian vanilla bean infuse balsamic glaze
Recommended pairing– Mar y Tierra, Carmenére Curico Valley, Chile
Brilliant red in color, with aromas of black fruits and spiced notes.
Gratin spicy mussels– New Zealand green lip mussels with spicy mayo and tobiko

Pale ruby red color, strawberry sorbet and raspberry aromas soft, sweet fruit, some spice and a clean, dry finish.
