"Not Your Typical Service Group" for Young Professionals Comes to West Chester

The coolest service group for young professionals has officially launched in WC! Yours truly is President of this group, so I wanted to be sure to share all of the excitement with all of you. Here are some pics from the event. Anyone is welcome to join us at the next meeting this coming Thursday night!

Here I am accepting the charter papers for our group to make it official!

Another shot of accepting the charter.

Here I am making an awkward speech about our new group…although it looks like I’m only talking to the bartender and some other guy in the corner. I swear there was a big group of people there…and I was picturing them all naked (Just kidding – the wine helped calm my nerves for the speech.).

See…here’s a shot of some of the folks that attended.

And now the official Press Release:

The West Chester Rotaract Club held its Charter Night poolside at the ACAC Fitness and Wellness Center, Thursday, September 18, 2008. The event marked a special occasion for one of the area’s newest Rotaracts not only for establishing it in the Rotary family but for bringing together local Rotarians from various clubs for an upscale social occasion.

The evening’s guests enjoyed served cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while mingling, sharing ideas and networking around the lower poolside area. The evening’s host, West Chester Rotaract Club President Mary Bigham, proudly accepted the charter from Rotarian John Schwab. Other notable guests included District Governor Joel Chesney.

The West Chester Rotaract Club extends a warm thank you to all attendees of the Charter Night event and looks forward to being an active part of the Rotary family.
