EXTON, Pa. – An evening of awards, networking and camaraderie will be capped off with a keynote address by Emmy-winning TV personality Janet Zappala.
On Thursday, April 30, the Women’s Referral Network of Chester County (WRN) will host its Annual Awards Dinner at the Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern. Highlights include the WRN Business Woman of the Year Award, Advocate for Women in Business Award, Corporate Citizen Award, dinner, a Silent Auction, networking and Zappala’s keynote.
“We’re thrilled to be honor three of Chester County’s finest,” said WRN President Paula Paisley. “Their accomplishments and Janet’s remarks highlight how our members live the WRN’s mission to support women in business.”
The 2009 WRN Business Woman of the Year is WRN past-president Denise Werkley, Esq., a principal at Unruh, Turner, Burke and Frees. The Advocate for Women in Business is publisher of the Women’s Yellow Pages Ellen Fisher. And this year’s Corporate Citizen is Ronita Swenson, administrative assistant at Fulton Bank, Brandywine Division.
Keynote speaker Zappala has worked at TV news stations across the country, including NBC-10 (WCAU-TV) and FOX Philadelphia. She is well known for her “All About You” and “Janet’s Jewels and Junk” segment on CN8’s “Art Fennel Reports.” She also hosted “Good Day Philadelphia.” She’ll speak to current struggles and opportunities facing today’s woman in business.
