Fourteen Injured As Truck Crashes Into Restaurant

According to Pottstown Police Department, fourteen people were injured after the driver of a pickup truck lost consciousness and smashed through the front window of the King Buffet restaurant at the Pottstown Center Sunday evening around 6 p.m. coming to rest over 50 feet inside the building. The Pottstown Police Dept. along with Goodwill Ambulance Co., Pottstown Fire Department, Trappe, Gilbertsville and West End of Phoenixville ambulance Co. responded to the scene to attend to the victims injured by the accident. Tables and chairs were driven over as the truck barreled through the restaurant. MedEvac and Sky Flight helicopters flew several of the injured to several hospitals in the area including Lehigh, CHOP, and Reading. Photo by John Strickler
