No Valentine? No Problem!

Brickside Grille

You can’t beat the raw bar at this Exton/Eagle spot. Stocked with oysters, shrimp and clams, if you have never been there you will fall in love with the Brickside Grille raw bar for Valentine’s Day. Their oyster shooters and spicy clam brick oven pizza are absolutely delish. Hang out at the bar, get a very reasonably priced bottle of wine and enjoy the live music.

Kildare’s Pub

Rather than thinking of it as Valentine’s Day, think of it as a St. Patrick’s Day pre-game. Kildare’s features some fine Irish food and I especially love their Boxty’s—a potato pancake—rolled and stuffed with a variety of goodies. The atmosphere is fun and the spirits can’t be beat. And, if you want a Valentine’s Day smooch, just wear a “Kiss
Me, I’m Irish” pin.

Victory Brewing Company

Even if you have no Valentine, grab a friend and head to Victory Brewing Company for their Valentine’s Day tapas menu (http://www.victorybeer.com/Valentines%20Day%20Menu.pdf).

Each course is served with a filled Victory draft tasting glass, and for $75 per couple (or a couple of friends), you really can’t beat it. No love is lost here!

Penn’s Table

Who needs a Valentine when you can spend the night with the friendliest wait-staff in WC? This favorite breakfast place serves up a fine dinner, too. A roast beef sandwich and a side of fries you won’t have to share can make for a great night. Make sure to save room
for a milkshake, too. You’ll truly fall in love with this local favorite.

Any Mexican

No chance of returning home with a Valentine? Then why not head to one of West Chester’s many Mexican restaurants and get the food you crave, without worrying about the embarrassing, digestive consequences. I know, I know. I’m stereotyping Mexican food here and I’m sure I will hear about it, but who doesn’t know what I am talking about? Rumblings or not, I do love tortilla anything, especially with cheese. Don Gabriel’s gets high ratings from WC Dishers and Senora’s Authentic Mexican has the best salsa around.

In closing, food is the perfect Valentine. You don’t have to buy it expensive chocolates, flowers that will die or pay it empty compliments. Just enjoy every moment and morsel in your mouth.
