Have you visited the Chester Springs-based mid-day farmers’ market of the historic Mill at Anselma? Held every Wednesday from 1 – 6 p.m. until October 27, the outdoor artisan market is a collaborative project of Maysie’s Farm Conservation Center and of course, of the historic landmark on the same property.
As its website reveals:
“The Market at the Mill features weekly children’s activities on the green, with a focus on sustainable agriculture education and the active promotion of school gardens, farm-to-school, and whole food nutrition. We believe that education and hands-on experiences are the only way to preserve Chester County’s local farms, farmlands, and farming as a way of life.”
As a producers-only market, a quick stop at the local and fresh hot spot will reveal fruit and veggies aplenty, in addition to homemade cheeses, soy candles, local honey, dog treats, fresh leaf herbal teas, fresh meats, soft pretzels, sweet treats, and much more.

Guests of the local market are also encouraged to take a historic tour of mill, allowing you to scope out the water wheel, the grindstones, and the grain that traditionally produce flour and cornmeal that you too can bring home to your kitchen to bake.
The Mill at Anselma is located on Route 401/Conestoga Road, a half-mile west of Route 113 in Chester Springs.
