Steel City Coffee House, in concert with three other live music venues, announces the Battle of the Open Mics. This contest is a multi-venue open mic contest involving Burlap & Bean (Newtown Square); MilkBoy Coffee (Ardmore); Kennett Flash (Kennett Square) and Steel City Coffee House. Here’s how it works: Attend any open mic at any of these four participating venues from August 1st-August 20th. Fill out a form to be considered as a contestant, then perform. The open mic hosts of the participating venues will pick TWO artists to represent their venue at the Battle of the Open Mics to be held at Steel City on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 8:00 PM. The more open mic nights you attend, the more chances you will have to be picked to represent a venue. From those 8 artists, the audience will select one artist as the BEST OF THE OPEN MIC PERFORMERS. 1st place prize is $150 cash, a $30 gift card from Steel City and a mini-tour of the four music venues sometime in the 2010/2011 season. All the rules and details are online at www.steelcitycoffeehouse.com, click on events and scroll down to the Battle of the Open Mics, August 25, 2010. Here are the days of open mics at each venue:
