Event to be held in the field behind the Log Cabin, October 3, 2010 from 10 AM to 4 PM

Please join the Downingtown Historical & Parks Commission on Sunday, October 3, 2010 for its annual Log Cabin Arts & Crafts Show.  The event, now in its third year, is held in conjunction with Downingtown’s Fall Fest, and will be located in the field behind Downingtown’s Historic Log House.  Proceeds from the event benefit the restoration of the Log House, which dates back 1701, and will be open for tours on October 3.

Bruce Mowday, an award-winning investigative journalist, will be at the event selling his books, including his recent book, Jailing The Johnston Gang.  The book is about a case, which attracted national attention, and Mowday covered the trials as a reporter. After working as a reporter, columnist and editor, Mowday, established his own media relations firm, The Mowday Group, and began writing books. He has authored 10 other books on historical and business topics.

Also joining the event will be Ben and Kate Gatski, from Gatski Metal, who possess an uncommon vision – to honor agriculture through art. They established Gatski Metal to design and fabricate unique metal works for indoor and outdoor spaces. They collect parts from farms and farm machinery dealers across Pennsylvania and craft unique and beautiful pieces from the machinery.

In addition, there will be a selective group of artists ranging photographers, painters, sculptors, and upscale jewelers.  Please join us, support local artists in your community, and get an early start on your holiday shopping!
