Did you celebrate the best of our local food, wine and beer scene yesterday at Rolling Barrel Event’s Taste Local festival at the Desmond Hotel?
Rolling Barrel Events—who are notorious for hosting pairing courses, collaborations local wineries and breweries, bus trips, food festivals and much more—brought together 10 breweries from the greater Philadelphia area and beyond, aside three wineries and a bunch of food-themed vendors for a delicious afternoon well spent.
In addition to offering an ultimate local taste fest in the hotel’s ballroom, a summer tomato-infused cooking demonstration was offered by the Desmond’s Executive Chef Thomas Macrina, as well as three Savor Sessions which included a “trip to the farmers’ market” tasting (Chaddsford Winery’s wine with Shellbark Hollow’s goat cheese chevre and Prestige chocolate), a “Taste of Italy in PA” (Chaddsford wines with Kennett Square’s Country Butcher’s cheeses and smoked meats), and a “Tailgater’s Guide to Local Beer” (Sweet Lucy’s brisket and pulled pork with Sly Fox’s cans).
Although you may have missed these delicious Saturday sessions and samplings, visit www.rollingbarrel.com for future events including their upcoming 3rd Annual BBQ in the Ballpark at September 4’s Phillies vs. Brewers’ game.
