Phoenixville’s classic 1948 Diner, The Vale-Rio, is currently up for auction on eBay from local sellers Francis J. Puleo and Richard J. Puleo for the asking price of $225,000.  The Vale-Rio closed its doors in February of 2008 and now sits, covered in pastic, on Puleo’s property along Route 23, ironically in the shadows of The Phoenix Diner & Family Restaurant (owned by Vale-Rio former chef Ali Ghouneimy).  Read today’s Philadelphia Inquirer article about the Vale-Rio here: http://bit.ly/cUbj89. Or, check out local blogger, Rich Wilhelm’s recent post in “The Dichotomy of the Dog”, complete with nostalgic photos of the diner from days gone by: http://bit.ly/chhYjx.  The eBay listing includes an interesting tidbit about the diner: “The Vale-Rio Diner is one of only four remaining Paramount diners with the burnished circle pattern in its stainless skin.”  Want to find out how you can purchase this piece of Phoenixville history?  Visit the eBay listing here: http://bit.ly/cl6Xcp
