On Tuesday, March 8, at 7 p.m., head brewer Bob Barrar and chef Dave Anderson of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (30 East State Street, 610-627-9000) will host a festive Fat Tuesday Brewmaster’s Dinner. Guests will enjoy four courses of seasonal fare, paired with four of Iron Hill’s delicious beers, for $65 per person, including tax and gratuity. Space is limited to 35 guests, so reservations are strongly recommended.
“This meal is a great way to celebrate the start of spring – and a fun alternative for those of us who can’t make it down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year,” says Barrar.
Dishes will include: Tasso and Spinach Baked Oysters, paired with Iron Bound Ale, a medium-bodied beer with overwhelming hops; Savory Crawfish and Andouille Cheesecake with spicy tomato cream, paired with India Pale Ale, a classic rendition of the English IPA with pleasant malty sweetness and modest fruitiness that give way to bitterness and the aroma of English hops; Pan-Seared Rabbit Tenderloin with creamy white cheddar grits, braised collard greens and mustard sauce, paired with American Brown Ale, a bigger, hoppier version of the English classic with chocolate and roasted flavor and aroma; and Fallen Orange Souffle with praline ice cream and candied orange, paired with Sasquatch American Barleywine, a citrus-like barleywine with malty sweetness and pronounced hop aroma.
