Dash & Dine: Dining Out for Diabetes

More than six percent of adults living in Chester County have been diagnosed with diabetes.  There are most likely many more that who are yet to be diagnosed.  Diabetes is a condition that can easily be controlled and managed with the proper guidance and education.  The Diabetes Self Management Program at The Chester County Hospital provides community members with diabetes this guidance in a group setting as well as in one-on-one sessions.

To support this program and many other educational programs focused on the management and prevention of diabetes, Dash 4 Diabetes – a 5K race and 2.5K walk – will be held on April 2, 2011 in downtown West Chester.  In tandem with this event, the Dash & Dine will be held May 1st through 3rd, where members of the community can dine at a number of Chester County restaurants and a portion of their bill will go to support The Diabetes Self Management Program at The Chester County Hospital.

A list of participating restaurants, many located in West Chester, Kennett Square, Downingtown, Exton and Phoenixville, can be found online at www.ChesterCountyHospital.com/Mayfest or on the Dash & Dine’s presenting sponsor’s site www.paeats.org by March 18.

To participate, visit one of the above sites to print out a Dash & Dine coupon (or view it below) and present it to your waitress April 1st through 3rd.
