Gettin’ Lucky at West Chester Recreation’s Casino Night

Why drive to Atlantic City when you can get lucky right here in West Chester?

Professionally dealt blackjack and craps and roulette tables will be part of the Casino Night Fundraiser presented by The West Chester Parks & Recreation Department. It will be held at Milestone Events on Market Street on March 25 from 7 to 11 p.m.

Proceeds from the event benefit their Send a Kid to Camp Fund, which allows underprivileged youths to enjoy the benefits of the summer camp program. In 2010, the fund provided assistance to 15 children.

The director of Parks and Recreation for the West Chester, Keith A. Kurowski, says, “While this fund is entering its third year, there has never been enough funding to help everyone. In these economic times, more families are in need of affordable camp options for their children throughout the summer. Our idea was to create a new event to help the fund grow and help more families in need. What better way to do this than to offer an affordable, fun evening that brings together the community for a good cause?”

Tickets include appetizers, drinks and “funny money” to gamble the night away. The more money you make at the gaming tables, the better chance you have at winning great prizes. The prize pool is valued at more than $2,500 and includes bus trips, dinners, gift certificates and other donations from local businesses (All prizes are listed at www.west-chester.com/recreation.php )

There will be door prizes, 50/50 raffles, and a recognition of support to The Exchange Club of West Chester and The Square Bar. These two organizations have helped raise thousands of dollars for the fund.

Reservations are required by March 22. Call 610-436-9010 or visit www.west-chester.com/recreation.
