Also, save the date for another event with both Black Walnut Winery and Daddy Mims, to be held at Chef John’s Bridge Street-based restaurant on March 3.
Daddy Mims Creole is donating an entire evening’s proceeds from his restaurant to an initiative currently being supported by the veterans community in and around Philadelphia. Yes We Care is a project brought to fruition by proud US Marine Clayton Williams. With NO government support he is housing homeless veterans on his own dime.
Chef Mims offered this benefit without any prompting. In fact, his response to various concerns about the costs was “I consider it an honor to do this. Without men and women fighting for me and my family I wouldn’t even have a restaurant. It’s the least I can do.” Everyone has to eat and this restaurant serves up the best New Orleans cuisine in this area…and this gives you a chance to help veterans who have fallen on bad times.
In addition, Black Walnut Winery will donate wine to help to make the evening an intoxicating event.
Finally, Bridge Street Chocolates will partner with Black Walnut Winery to create a gift basket which will be auctioned off that night through a Silent Auction.
It is not only for a good cause, but promises to be a good time. The benefit hours are on March 3rd from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Reservations are recommended since we hope/expect a big response to fill the place!
