Throughout July, Chef Michael Cappon of Isabella (382 East Elm Street, Conshohocken) is featuring sweet summer corn, an American favorite with a Mediterranean twist.
Chef Cappon’s a la carte Sweet Summer Corn Menu includes Chilled Corn Bisque with marcona almond crème fraiche ($5); Maiz de la Parilla, grilled sweet corn with a toasted chili and saffron crema ($5); and Polenta y Maiz, crispy sweet corn polenta with fresh herbs, lump crab and a piquillo pepper coulis ($10). - Chilled Corn Bisque with marcona almond crème fraiche
- Maiz de la Parilla: grilled sweet corn with a toasted chili and saffron crema
- Arroz Con Maiz, made with bomba rice slow cooked with sweet corn and fresh cream
- Corn Fritters with shrimp, chorizo and horseradish infused wildflower honey
- Polenta y Maiz: crispy sweet corn polenta with fresh herbs, lump crab and a piquillo pepper coulis
- Scallops: seared with creamed corn, and charred frisée
- Sweet Corn Flan with a sherry scented caramel
Also, happy hour is offered every day at Isabella, including tapas, oysters on the half shell and drink specials. Seven days a week from 5 to 7pm, Isabella offers $3.50 tapas, 1/2 off draft beer, $4 select wine and $5 martinis for Happy Hour. And now Monday through Friday through the end of the summer, guests can also indulge with raw oysters on the half shell. Available in both the dining room and the bar, oysters are $1.75 each or $10 for 1/2 dozen.
