10 Chefs Celebrate 10 Courses for a 10th Anniversary at Lacroix

Never before has a 10 year old celebrated their birthday so glamorously. However, this isn’t an old Super Sweet 16 gig where the child is spoiled rotten with a billion dollar dance party. Instead, Lacroix at the Rittenhouse is turning 10 and deserves every ounce of attention they receive for the ten-course dinner they’re creating to honor thisachievement. Food fans might have to slap themselves to assure the chef line up for this 10th Anniversary Celebration is, in fact, reality because the culinary talents involved are dreamier than ever!

Current Executive Chef Jon Cichon and Executive Pastry Chef Fred Ortega will open up the Lacroix kitchen for a collaborative dinner with Lacroix chef alums. This one night only affair will feature a ten course tasting menu and wine pairing with each course prepared by a different culinary master.

In celebration of this milestone anniversary of Lacroix at the Rittenhouse, Chefs Cichon and Ortega have enlisted help from their chef network of former colleagues to provide an unforgettable menu for the special evening. Lacroix’s chef contributors for the evening are as follows:

  • Jason Cichonski, Chef-Owner, Ela
  • Michael Fiorello, Garces Culinary Director
  • Matthew Levin, Executive Chef, Square Peg Restaurant
  • Matt Ridgway, Owner, PorcSalt
  • Peter Scarola, Pastry Chef, R2L
  • Brinn Sinnott, Executive Sous Chef, Talula’s Garden
  • Lee Styer, Chef-Owner, Fond
  • Townsend “Tod” Wentz, Executive Chef, McCrossen’s Tavern

Although Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix won’t be getting behind the pots and pans, he will be present for the special evening as an honorary chef host. It seems only fitting that the James Beard award winner take a seat at the event since it’s proceeds will benefit the first-ever Lacroix at the Rittenhouse Scholarship given out by the James Beard Foundation. The scholarship will help a Philadelphia area student with culinary school tuition and fees.

The official menu is yet to be determined but, regardless of what cuisine is created in that kitchen on September 24th, the unique collaboration is not to be missed. The 10 Year Anniversary Celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with cocktail hour featuring hors d’oeuvres by Chef Cichon and a toast, followed by dinner service seating at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $350.00 and space is limited. Chef’s Table, located in the kitchen, is available for a party of up to 6 people (price upon request).
