Award-Winning Vendors Set to Serve at Safe Harbor’s 2nd Annual Taste of Chester County

Next Thursday, November 15th, from  6:30 to 9 p.m., marks a night of pure enjoyment for Chester County foodies. Everyone’s favorite dining spots and specialty vendors from the area will gather at Milestone Events in West Chester for a delicious fundraiser. With profits benefitting Safe Harbor of Chester County, this is the ultimate affair that allows guests to taste their way through our flavorful county with one convenient stop, and all for a great cause!

Among the many magnificent participants, guests at the 2nd Annual Taste of Chester County should be particularly pleased to see two vendors in the line-up who received awards at previous events this year. That’s right, both Amani’s BYOB of Downingtown and Cakes & Candies by Maryellen of West Chester will be present and serving up their sweet and savory offerings.

PA Eats was lucky enough to snag a taste of Amani’s award winning dishes during the Chester County Restaurant Festival’s Culinary Cookoff. The friendly battle between four local chefs proved Chef Jonathan Amann victor for the third year in a row, and left the judges in a bit of a culinary coma. While Jon’s exact mesmerizing dishes, such as the Chanterelle mushroom and grain mustard-stuffed pork tenderloin, may not be present at the 2nd Annual Taste of Chester County, the same talents will certainly be behind his featured dishes of Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage Brown Butter and Short Rib Cannelloni with Oyster Mushroom Cream Sauce.

“Amani’s is happy to participate in an event that raises funds to help homeless men and women in our area get back on their feet,” shared Chef Jon. “The two dishes that we chose to serve are currently on our menu and are very popular with our guests.  We wanted to bring dishes that showcase the flavors of the season.”

Cakes & Candies by Maryellen is excited to join Amani’s at the Taste of Chester County as an award winning vendor also. Thanks to her recent entry and nearly clean contest sweep at the Chester County Cupcake Clash (with the exception of Dia Doce snagging first place in one category), she is currently the reigning champ from Living in Chester County’s Blind Cupcake Competition. Guests who attended the event back in September sampled their way through hundreds of mini cupcakes with no idea as to who crafted the mouthwatering morsels. Although there won’t be any secrecy involved at next Thursday’s event, you can still help yourself to Cakes & Candies sweet offerings when attending the Taste of Chester County.

In addition to the two award winning tastes, several other restaurants and unique vendors who have nabbed their fare share of special recognitions in the past will also be present for the 2nd Annual Taste of Chester County – plus, all of them hold a unique place in Chester County locals’ hearts, which is greater than any award ever granted!

Other swoon-worthy samples will be slung by Doc Magrogan’sMas MexicaliFirecreek RestaurantAneu BistroFull Spirited FlavoursArianna’s Gourmet CaféLimoncello’s RistoranteSide Bar & Restaurant, and The Capital Grille. After tasting your way through those many vendors and then some, there will also be Tally Ho Coffee and Box Car Brewing beverages present for guests’ refreshment. Those who attend can expect to sample a wide variety of offerings from duck tacos and short ribs to mini crab cakes and oysters, and all just for $35.
