Bringing Hope Home Races for a Cure with West Chester STOMPS Cancer 5K & Fun Run

The battle to cure cancer is fought year round, but troops will be reinforced this September when Bringing Hope Home (formerly Great Guys Group) holds their 3rd Annual West Chester STOMPS Cancer 5K and Fun Run/Walk. The signature Bringing Hope Home event expects to gather hundreds of great guys and gals in 2012, more than ever before, for one common goal: to STOMP cancer in the Greater Philadelphia Area!

This year’s fundraiser is set to unleash the running warriors on Friday, September 28th in downtown West Chester with a 5K race start time of 6:30 p.m. and Fun Run/Walk (2.5K) at 6:35 p.m.

STOMPS’ runners will begin their journey at the corner of West Market & South Church Street and complete a course slightly over 3 miles, ending at the start. Runners should register by 5 p.m. at Barnaby’s prior to the 5K/Fun Run and come full circle by returning for a post-race celebration. There will be plenty of signature drink specials, FREE FOOD, awards, giveaways and more! Runners can pre-register online for $25 until September 24th or register the day of for $30. A FREE shirt goes to those who register before September 7th so don’t waste any time!

Not big on racing?

There are plenty of ways for non-runners to stomp cancer as well. Those interested in helping out can become a community STOMP-sor, create a team of STOMPERS, build a FUN-raising page, volunteer at the race, or spread the word by sharing STOMPS’ official flier on your website.Visit the event’s official website for more information and to get started STOMPING!

This year’s STOMP event is particularly special as it runs in conjunction with their Hope for 100 Challenge, an effort to financially help 100 local families battling cancer by directly paying their house bills. The four-month challenge will take place from September 1st to December 31st and there are many ways for people to get involved, from participating in an official Bringing Hope Home event to dining out and texting to donate. More info on the Hope for 100 Challenge may be found HERE.

We hope you get STOMPING in one way or another and contribute to the Hope for 100 Challenge.
