On Sunday, April 22, from 10 am to 2 pm, the organization with a goal of supporting farmers, connecting consumers, educating our communities and celebrating local food, will host Little Lost Creek Alpaca Farm. All our welcome to enjoy a free, family-friendly event with lots of fun activities in store.Little Lost Creek, winter-time vendors at Longview, and year-round members of the Collegeville Farmers Market, will be bringing two of last summer’s cria (babies). They, invite you to come learn about these fascinating animals and their fiber. There may even be an opportunity to have your picture taken with one of them!
There will be demonstrations of felting, with a station set up for visitors to explore this addictive art. Additionally, the Longview Center for Agriculture farm tours will be offered at 3 different times and they encourage you to pack a lunch or purchase a healthy snack from their market to fill your belly throughout the day.
Be sure to save up all your recycled containers until this special event arrives so you can partake in seed planting activities with the fun Longview staff. Also, at 1 pm, Nutritionist Greg Henderson will be discussing nutritional attunement to the seasons. In other words the importance of eating foods that are in season and the importance of eating organic. As well as nutritional approaches to healing and preventing common disease with emphasis on autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. He will touch upon traditional Chinese nutritional concepts such as “5 element philosophy.”
