Chef Regis Jansen Steps Down at REX 1516, Charitable Cocktail Offered in Support

Since chefs of the area’s most reputable restaurants are often viewed as our culinary heros, we forget they live a life outside the kitchen too. Chef Regis Jansen of REX 1516 has been battling Cystic Fibrosis for quite some time now. Due to a recent turn of events, Chef Jansen has stepped down from his position, but not before training former Sous Chef Justin Swain for the Executive Chef position.

REX is recognizing this change with a month-long cocktail feature, during which 100% of each cocktail sold will be donated to MANNA, a non-profit which has been supporting Regis during this difficult time.

The swanky Philadelphia restaurant has partnered with Art in The Age for this initiative. The signature cocktail, Snappy Pamplemousse (AITA Snap, Combier Pamplemousse Rose, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, fresh orange juice, and angostura bitters) will be available for $10 from January 1st to January 31st. Head on over and support a great cause!
