Fourth of July falls mid-week this year, leaving many unsure about their holiday celebrations. Should we travel far? Stay close? The debate is finally settled. Visit Downingtown for their popular Annual July 4th Celebration, Good Neighbor Day!
Good Neighbor Day is a day-long event that starts with the Run for Life (5K, 10K & 15K) and 5K Freedom Walk at 8am. Approximately 1,500 athletes participate each year. After the organized runs, the celebration features fabulous food, nearly a hundred craft exhibitors, and a slew of other activities throughout the day at Kerr Park. The day is capped off with a Fireworks Grand Finale that starts at dusk.
It’s the perfect way to celebrate a stress free Fourth of July with no holiday traffic but plenty of holiday fun!
Proceeds from the annual event are distributed to the following emergency providers: Alert Fire Company, Minquas Ambulance, Uwchlan Ambulance, East Brandywine Fire Company, Glenmoore Fire Company, and West Bradford Fire Company. The Downingtown Good Neighbor Day Committee and the emergency service providers thank you for your participation in this Independence Day Community Event.
