Depending on cover charges and costume supplies, it’s not always easy to attend your favorite Halloween celebrations. That is not the case with Manayunk’s Halloween Day filled with FREE activities.
5K
The fun will unfold this Saturday, October 27th, beginning at 9 a.m., as runners race in costume to benefit Depaul Catholic School. The 5K tour will start at the Bryn Mawr Running Co., travel along Main Street, and round off with the Towpath in Manayunk. More 5K info HERE.
Fall Festival
Once the morning run is complete, the Pretzel Park Fall Festival is the next inviting stop. It’s the perfect fall affair to cap off the month of October and welcomes all ages from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees will find a costume parade, live music, a classic horror movie, and more!
Trick-or-Treat/Parade
A Halloween celebration wouldn’t be complete without trick-or-treating and the participating businesses of Manayunk agree. That’s why they’re opening their doors from noon to 4 p.m. and welcoming kids in costume. Children will also able to march in a Halloween parade at 1 p.m. and enter the costume contest for a chance to win some cool prizes. Bring your furry friends, too, since the “Howling in the Hills! Costumed Dog Parade” is set to take place at 11 a.m.
Family Fun
More family fun arrives in the form of pumpkin painting from 1 to 5 p.m. Family photos complete with a Fall scenery, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Be sure to strike a pose with your whole gang and take the photo home as a magical memory.
Music
Live music will take place from noon to 6 p.m. for all the shoppers throughout Manayunk and a grand, live performance by Merge Dance Studio will wow the crowd at 2:30 p.m.
Movies
Although the line-up of events seems pretty hefty, come prepared to fuel up and make it through the full day of fun. You won’t want to miss the twilight screening of the Bela Lugosi classic, Voodoo Man, happening from 6-8 p.m. which will feature special guest Stella, the host of Saturday Night Dead, and the Maneater from Manayunk.
