As dog lovers and owners, we’ve all been there before. The urge to eat out strikes but the guilt of leaving your precious doggie behind hits you heavy each and every time. There are a few restaurants with outdoor seating that allow pups to hang and now, Temaki, is offering up a solution with amazing sushi as a side and a few more bonuses.
Every Monday is now bring-your-dog-to-dinner night starting on May 21 from 5 to 9:30 pm at 19 S. Olive Street. Weather permitting, dog-owning residents are encouraged to come out to dine under the stars with their favorite canine friend. This doggie friendly dining comes with a twist. In honor of man’s best friend, 10% of the proceeds from dog diners will be donated to local lifesaving animal welfare organizations, the Delaware County SPCA and Animal Rescue Foundation of SE PA (ARF SEPA).
You may think since the doggies are along, it would be a shame to make them sit through your delicious dinner while they watch. Solved! Each doggy diner will enjoy chicken stock rice, a water bowl and a treat for dessert from the neighboring downtown Media Four Paws Shoppe while their family enjoys dinner.
At the weekly event, which will run through the fine weather months with the exception of holidays Memorial Day and Labor Day, residents can drop off donations from the “wish list” of both animal welfare organizations, which can be viewed at www.delcospca.org/donations and www.arfsepa.com/help_donate.html. Reservations are suggested but not required. On occasional Monday nights, Delco SPCA and ARF SEPA will have furry friends available for adoption stopping by to say hello to the doggy diners and their families.
