With the end of the year in clear view, are you scurrying to make party plans? Searching for a new diet? Are you analyzing your 2012 goals with the utmost criticism, angered that you never saved enough money to buy your favorite Xbox game?
Or are you hoping the power doesn’t go out from lack of payment and you’re able to put food on the table?
Many local families are battling cancer and, after putting all their funds toward treatment, they have less than the bare necessities to look forward to on Christmas Day and every day of the year for that matter. These are families in your neighborhood or even just the next street over. They’re grateful for life’s little moments and they’re not begging for help – but they do need it.
Bringing Hope Home (formerly Great Guys Group) is a local organization that strives to help families battle cancer in our community through emotional and financial assistance. Started by a West Chester University graduate who lost his wife to the battle, BHH works to pay bills for families during their tough times. Since 2008, their organization has helped over 900 local families. Amazing, right?
So where do you come in?
In their latest endeavor, BHH has set out to help 100 families before December 31, 2012. The Hope for 100 Challenge began on September 1st and, thanks to a slew of fundraising efforts, plus outside organizations and people going the extra mile, the BHH crew is super close to reaching their goal. Now they’re down to crunch time and every little bit helps, be it $5 or $50. You can pitch in by heading to the Hope for 100 page and making a donation or scope out other ways to help listed below.

Change for 100
Pick up your can and start collecting! Contact Bringing Hope Home to pick up your own Hope Can and start dropping in your own spare change at home, at your school, or with your company. Look for Hope Cans around the community! Keep an eye out at participating restaurants, retail stores, hair salons, schools, etc. and donate what you can.

Dine for Hope
Eat out at one of the participating Dine For Hope locations between September 1st and December 31st, where local restaurants will be donating a portion of sales back to Bringing Hope Home to support the Hope For 100 Challenge. Contact BHH for participator information.
Holiday Family Gift Drive
The 2012 Holiday Family Gift Drive will provide holiday gifts and gift cards for families battling cancer in the Greater Philadelphia Area who may not have the means to provide gifts for their family this holiday season. This program will pair families in need with local companies, organizations and individuals who are looking to make the difference in a family’s life.
