Manayunk to Host First-Ever Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival

Manayunk Restaurant Week begins September 30th and runs until October 5th. As if the celebration of fine cuisine for a week wasn’t enough, this year a grand food party will be held on Saturday, September 29th to kick things off in the right direction. The StrEAT Food Festival begins at 10 a.m., lasting all day until 5 p.m., with 20 vendors from the Philadelphia area selling single servings of their fare for $3-$5 to pedestrians. This pre-restaurant week celebration is particularly special because it’s the ONLY day of the year that street vendors are allowed to sell food in Manayunk due to district regulations. There will also be farmers’ markets throughout Main Street parking lots selling gourmet and homemade foods and local produce. Live music is scheduled to fill the air as StrEAT Food Festival goers take advantage of so many delicious offerings in one spot.

Better yet, the vendors participating all plan to ring in fall the proper way by offering an apple-inspired dish. Each participant will use the featured item in a creative fashion of their choice. It may end up on hot dogs or in a popsicle but you’ll have to scope the scene to find out!

Vendors currently excited to take part in this pre-restaurant week affair include:

Jimmie’s Cupcakes
Kung Fu Hoagies
New Hope Premium Fountain
Rival Bros
Spot Burgers
Sweet Box Cupcakes
The Dapper Dog
Zea May’s
Zsa’s Gourmet Ice Cream Truck

And more! Applications for vendors are still being accepted here so if you’d like to see your name added to the list, get on it!

Manayunk Restaurant Week will be from Sunday September 30th to Friday October 5th. Participating restaurants will be selling three-course fixed price meals for $10, $20, or $30.
