Morris Arboretum’s Friday Night Concert Series Kicks Off July 20th

There are plenty of Summer concert series popping up all over the Philadelphia area and it seems we can’t get enough of them! Each occasion offers a unique selection of music, there is sure to be a concert series just for you. Another fabulous concert experience has hopped on board and their kick off event is happening this Friday, July 20.

Just when you thought the end of your week was looking a little uneventful, you now have the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania Summer Concert Series to look forward to. It officially begins on Friday from 7 to 8p.m., with locally renowned jazz band Arpeggio, but there are many future performances scheduled. Arpeggio plans to bring the lively sounds of Northern Brazil to the Arboretum. You can dance, sway or just sit back and listen to the enjoyable blend of calypso, samba and bossa nova.

In case you’re booked this week, three more musical talents will hit the “stage” after the July 20th concert, with the entire series ending on August 10th.There is certainly motivation to get there sooner than later, though, because Chestnut Hill’s Iron Hill Brewery will only have free tastings at the first two events on July 20th and July 27th.

The Morris Arboretum is the perfect spot to spend a summer evening. All of the concerts will be held in the garden’s beautiful Azalea Meadow. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and don’t forget to pack a picnic. These amazing, one of a kind, local performances only cost $40 per car to attend and just $20 if you’re a member. Grab the caravan crew and head on down to Morris Arboretum.
