It’s the perfect opportunity to fill your belly with dogs, burgs, or any other meaty treat you can cook on a grill. The camaraderie amongst the parked cars is unlike any other. Those good times are fine and dandy all season long, but once a year, Rolling Barrel Events calls upon their die hard fans to kick it up a notch at the 5th Annual BBQ at the Ballpark.
This food, fun and fan packed event is unfolding at the Jetro Lot located next to Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, July 7th from 3 to 7 pm. The 5th Annual BBQ at the Ballpark is not your average tailgate. Guests can pay to park next to the massive tent, or walk-in with a group and enjoy the one-of-a-kind tailgating experience. Once again Rolling Barrel will team up with Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse to offer an amazing all-you-can-eat BBQ buffet, and pour some of the region’s best craft beers to help get you ready for the ballgame. This year, proceeds will benefit the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police (DELCO FOP Lodge 27).
While you enjoy the mouth-watering BBQ from Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse, wet your whistle with complimentary beers from Manayunk Brewing Company, Philadelphia Brewing Company, Victory Brewing Company, Weyerbacher Brewing Company, Yards Brewing Company, and Magners Irish Cider. New Leaf Tea and Olde Philadelphia Soda will also be pouring their locally made beverages to keep you quenched throughout the sunny summer afternoon. If your stomach is still grumbling after the all-you-can-eat BBQ, munch on some goodies from Davey Dogs, the 2011 prize winning sandwich from the Reading Phillies. Need to satisfy your sweet tooth? The Bent Spoon will be returning this year, along with newcomer Zsa’s Gourmet Ice Cream, to help with samples of their delicious artisanal ice creams.
Fill up on all the beer and grub, and join in on the games! In addition to your tailgating favorites, J-Dogs Amusements will be teaming up with us this year with a speed pitch machine! Then, make your way over to John Hay Cigars and check out their locally rolled cigars while you listen to live music.
