There is nothing that can compare to enjoying the results of your hard working efforts. A homemade holiday dinner brings more than tasty food to the table, it brings a sense of pride. What if you went further and even created the plates that your helping of Christmas ham rests on?
Ceramics artists Cornelia Kietzman and Shinobu Habauchi opened Six Senses Clay Studio on October 1st, 2012, adding a new dimension to the growing arts community in Mt. Airy. The studio is located at 20 East Mount Airy Avenue and features two open work spaces, a gallery, a cozy “hang-out” area and retail art supplies store. Everything from after school art programs for children to evening and weekend adult art classes are currently running.
There’s no doubt that you’ll be in good hands when attending a class or using the community space since Ms. Kietzman is a second generation potter. She attained her B.A. in Fine Arts at Bryn Mawr College and is a professional potter, woodworker and multi-media artist.
A wonderful time to pop in is on the horizon as they celebrate the Six Senses Studio Opening on Friday, December 21st at 6 p.m. Music and refreshments will be served while the studio’s first show, the Rebecca Tobias Retrospective, is presented in the gallery space.
Six Senses is open weekdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Weekend hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All are welcome. For more information contact them online at sixsensesclaystudio.com or by telephone at 267-650-1757.
