Wayne Art Center Presents The Sixth Annual Plein Air Painting Festival And Exhibition, May 20-June 23

Returning for its sixth year, the Wayne Art Center’s Annual Plein Air Festival welcomes 34 national artists to participate in a five-day landscape painting competition culminating in an art exhibition which opened yesterday, May 20.

Artists were invited to paint anywhere within a 15-mile radius of the Wayne Art Center from May 15 through May 19. The surrounding area is known for scenic beauty and historical landmarks so it seemed only fitting to incorporate that element into this event. Painting locations will include pastoral vistas, gardens, historic and unique architectural structures, charming towns, neighborhoods and downtown Philadelphia.

The public had a chance to observe the artists painting in downtown Wayne , amidst the recent beautiful weather. Onlookers were impressed by the brand new body of work  they had an exclusive peak at before it made its way into the Wayne Art Center for the opening. The art show will run until June 23 at 413 Maplewood Avenue in Wayne and it’s absolutely free! You can check out a list of the participating artists and gather more information HERE.
