Cinco de Mayo—one of those holidays you decide to celebrate the day before when you realize it is the perfect excuse to eat and drink as desired!
Biggest excitement of Cinco de Mayo for me … the margaritas! I don’t mind the chips and salsa either. And while I am a fan of good ol’ traditional margaritas, looking at some of these margaritas has me ready to be daring!
First up is the Spiced Pineapple from Martha Stewart. I have always liked the combination of sweet and spicy so this makes my taste buds tingle! Next up is the Midnight Blue Margarita. It looks so refreshing! This recipe from Drink of the Week contains tequila blanco, un-aged tequila. (To learn about the different types of tequila, check out tequila.net.) The Spicy Grapefruit Margarita is one of my favorites from The Life Styled. Again you have that great combination of sweet and spicy—don’t be afraid to use the cayenne!
How pretty is that orange Papaya Margarita from Sweet Life? If you’re hosting a Cinco de Mayo party and you bring out Papaya Margaritas your party is bound to be a hit! Next is the Blood Orange Margarita from The Framed Table. Last, but definitely not least, is the Cherry Margarita from Sweet Life. I am really looking forward to this one as I am a fan of all things cherry!
