Dining Out for Life (DOFL), founded in Philadelphia by ActionAIDS, is an annual fundraising event involving the generous participation of restaurants throughout the Delaware Valley. Funds raised benefit those living with HIV and AIDS throughout the region. Dine out in one of hundreds of restaurants on Thursday, April 25, and 33% of the cost of your meal will go to the fight against HIV & AIDS—it’s as simple as that!
New to the event this year: a group of 12 food trucks will be set up in the parking lot at 12th and Passyunk in South Philly from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with proceeds benefiting Dining Out for Life.
Today, DOFL is held in more than 60 cities in North America, includes 3,500 restaurants and raises nearly $4 million annually. The monies raised stay in each respective community and are used to fund care, prevention, education, testing, counseling and other essential AIDS services. In addition to ActionAIDS, the monies raised help AIDS Delaware, Family and Community Service of Delaware County and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania (PPSEPA).
