Looking for a proper way to officially kick off the summer? On Thurs., June 20, at 7 p.m., a sizzling-hot summer party will unfold at Morris Arboretum, promising to be one of the season’s best outings and no better way to celebrate the longest day of the year.
The event will be presented by WRTI 90.1FM and will feature Café Con Pan Band, a salsa dance party favorite. Cheryl Ingram, owner of Lace It Up Dance Studio, will be on hand before the concert (as of 5:30 p.m.) to provide free salsa dance lessons. Easton Salsa Company will join in for the outdoor party with samples of their all natural salsas, while Iron Hill Brewery in Chestnut Hill will be on hand with samples of their craft beers.
Pre-concert activities will run from 5:30-7 p.m., with the live music jump-starting at 7 p.m. Guests are invited to pack picnics and bring blankets and chairs. Morris Arboretum’s Café will also be open for the event.
Tickets are available day-of for $25/car for members; $30/car for non-members. Find Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania at 100 E. Northwestern Avenue in Philadelphia.
