Va La Vineyards has certainly been receiving a lot of spotlight time recently. First, they were recognized Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, and now The Drinks Business is highlighting this 12-year-old Avondale winery. The entire article is focused on convincing readers that amazing wine is definitely being produced on the East coast despite “bypassing the world of ratings, national publicity and even distribution networks.”
Author Roger Morris particularly points out that “Anthony Vietri, owner and winemaker at Pennsylvania’s Va La Vineyards, has been producing wines of such quality that his best bottles command up to US $50 (HK $388). Yet his wines have never been reviewed and rated by a national publication.”
Morris goes on to explain how “the hilly coastal area of Pennsylvania just west of Philadelphia, where Vietri’s Va La winery is located, has shown great early success with northern Italian varieties, especially Barbera.”
It’s time you start taking advantage of your proximity to amazing wineries like Va La Vineyards and pay them a visit or two. First, catch the rest of Morris’s Eastern Promise article HERE. Cheers!
